China shouldn’t be buying U.S. crops because the world’s two largest economies scramble to finish their commerce conflict, President Donald Trump mentioned Thursday. 

The president tweeted that Beijing “is letting us down” because it has not purchased American agricultural merchandise “that they mentioned they might.” The event might bode poorly for efforts to succeed in a commerce settlement, as U.S. officers have mentioned they anticipate China to buy crops as a part of ongoing talks. 

“Hopefully they’ll begin quickly!” Trump mentioned.
